The 'whois.zyx' script on a nutshell:  

- The whois commandOn Unix-like operating systems, the whois command is a client for the WHOIS directory service. is utilized by the script to perform a whois lookup at the known Registry whois server for the domain. 
- If a Registrar whois server is found on the result of the whois lookup from the Registry's whois server, the script will utilize the whois command again and will do the same lookup on the whois server of the Registrar. - If the input is a domain name the whois command will present two tabs, unless a whois server is specified. The first tab contains the whois information obtain from the whois server of the Registry. The second tab contains the whois information obtain from the whois server of the Registrar. - For IP addresses, the whois command will perform a whois lookup at the appropriate RIRRegional Internet Registry. whois server. Note: If you do not get a valid result, you might need to update conf file of whois/jwhois on the host, OR manually specify the whois server for the whois lookup. To specify a server, you can click the '+' before the 'Who is' button. To check the whois server(s) assigned for a particular TLD from the ROOT DNS servers you can check the following link from IANAInternet Assigned Numbers Authority:
