The 'dip.zyx' script on a nutshell:

- The script utilizes the whois commandOn Unix-like operating systems, the whois command is a client for the WHOIS directory service. and performs a whois lookup at the known Registryregistry whois server for the TLDTop Level Domain.
- If a RegistrarDomain name registrar whois server is found from the whois lookup result provided by the registry whois server, the script does another whois lookup on the whois server of the Registrar.

- The information about the registrar, reseller, status, creation date, expiration dates, authoritative name serversA name server, but authoritative!, registrant, tech contact, and admin contact under the domain name are then extracted from the 2 whois lookup result.

- Each domain status is then paired with its matching table from this ICANN'sInternet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers web page. The table/s can be viewed later by clicking the '+' button before each domain status.

- Days passed or days left on the creation and expiration dates are calculated by subtracting the seconds counted since Unix time until the stored relevant date from the seconds counted since Unix time until the current server time. These calculated days can be viewed later on by clicking the '+' button inline with 'Registrar Expiry Date'.

- A simple validation check for each authoritative name servers can be performed by the script. The script checks if each authoritative name server resolves to an IP address, or in some case IP addresses, and checks if each server respond to DNSDomain Name System. record lookup (dig queries). This validation check can be initiated by ticking the 'NS Check' radio button.
- If a validation check is initiated, to check the the IP address associated with each authoritative name server and/or see if the the authoritative name server responds to 'dig queries', you can click the '+' inline with the last authoritative name server listed under 'Name Servers:'. (The script will display "Invalid Nameserver - Does not resolve to an IP address!" for name servers that does not resolve to an IP address , and "Warning: This NS does not respond to dig queries!" for name servers that does not respond to dig queries)
- If 'NS Check' radio button is ticked, the script will 'dig' the A recordAddress record. and MX recordMail eXchanger record. of the domain from one of the 'validated' authoritative name servers.
- And if 'Skip NS Check' radio button is ticked, the script will 'dig' the A record and MX record from 8.8.8.8 instead of one of the authoritative name server.

- Then the whois command is again utilized to do more 'whois lookups', but this time to the RIRRegional Internet Registry. whois server(s) for each A record (IP addressInternet Protocol address.) the domain resolves to.
- The organization responsible for each IP address will be extracted from the whois lookup result(s), and will then be displayed in line with the A record.
The full raw whois result obtained by the script for each IP address can be viewed by clicking the '' inline with each A record.

- The scipt also performs validation of the MX record(s), it is done by checking if each hostname on the MX record(s) resolves to an IP address, or in some cases IP addresses.
- If a hostname resolves to an IP address / IP addresses, the script does the same process performed with the A record(s) under the omain, a whois lookup for each of the IP address/es will be performed.
- And again, the organization responsible for each IP address will be extracted from the result of the whois results, and will be displayed in line with the IP address.
And the full whois result obtained by the script for the IP address can be viewed by clicking the '' inline with each IP addresss.
If the'NS Check' radio button is ticked, the script will perform a more thorough analysis and report on the MX record(s); which can give more information about the validity of each MX records set under the domain.

In The EndLinkin Park --- yeah!
(This was suppose to be 'At the end of the script process')
BUT the script author/dev of this site is a BIG F******* fan of Linkin Park)
[This is the author's simple tribute to the band
